Where is Kilfenora?

Shannon International Airport is the closest and biggest Airport, and you can get there from locations all over Europe with the excellent and cheap Ryanair. Ryanair also flies to Dublin, Galway
and Kerry.
Aer Lingus is Ireland's worldwide air carrier and flies to Shannon and Dublin from locations all over world.
Aer Arainn is a small but reliable carrier and flies to Shannon from locations within Ireland.
By Sea
Car Ferries operate daily routes from France and the UK to ferry ports in Dublin, Rosslare, Cork and Belfast. Ferry companies include Irish Ferries ∓ Swansea-Cork Ferries.

From Inside Ireland...
By Car
If your travelling from the South/South-East or the East (e.g. Cork, Rosslare, Dublin) then head straight for Limerick and from there travel north to the town of Ennis.
If you are flying into Shannon you should also head north to Ennis.
If you are travelling from the North/North-West (Belfast, Donegal, Sligo) head for Galway.
If you are travelling from Kerry you can take the Tarbert Ferry across the River Shannon and then head north to Ennistymon.
If you do not have your own car or bicycle you will need to use one of the following methods.
By train
Iarnroid Eireann is the only Rail service in Ireland. Look for the following connections:
Dublin - Limerick or Galway; Cork - Limarick;
Limerick to Ennis.
By Bus
Bus Eireann operate an extensive bus service throughout Ireland. Nestors Bus (Galway) and Citylink (Limeick, Galway) offer cheap and reliable alternatives to Bus Eireann. Look for the following connections:
Anywhere - Limerick;
Limerick - Ennis; Limerick - Ennistymon; Limerick - Kilfenora;
Anywhere - Galway;
Galway - Lisdoonvarna.

Hitch-Hiking
Hitch-hiking in County Clare is very safe, and a great way to meet the locals, don't be afraid to stick out your thumb if you find yourself stuck somewhere.

From Inside Clare (including Galway)...
From Galway
Ok, you're nearly there, don't give up yet!!!
Travel south on the main Galway - Limerick road as far as Kilcolgan and there turn left for Ballyvaughan, when you get past Kinvarra, you'll come accross a turn-off with lterrally dozens of sign-posts, turn left here and drive all the way, through the village of carran until you reach another t-junction, again go left until you meet another t-junction with a large castle on you right. This is Lemenagh castle. Turn right for Kilfenora at this cross... (distance 40km). (Note: This is one of the most scenic routes in all of Ireland. Remenber to stay on the left :-)
From Ennis
Take the Ennistymon/Lahinch (N85) road for 4km. Turn right for Kilfenora via Corofin... (distance 26km).
From Ennistymon
Take the Lisdoonvarna road for 3km, and then take a right for Kilfenora... (distance 8km).
From Lisdoonvarna Town Centre
With the Imperial Hotel on your left, travel straight ahead for 500m as far as a t-junction. Turn left for Kilfenora... (distance 8km).
When you get to KIlfenora...
You made it!! Well done!!!
When you enter Kilfenora, look for the Maire Rua Craftshop in the centre of the village.
